KARACHI 3rd April 2011: “-Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association is conducting its dedicated effort to promote bowling in Sindh which is healthiest activity for society. Ministry of Sport (Government of Sindh) will provide all possible support for the approval of Land to install bowling Alleys in all district of Sindh such as Larkana, Sukkar, Mirpur Khas, Hyderabad and etc. I have seen the significant progress of STBA and I’m hopefull that the players will not only produce a competitive environment nationally but also glorify    the nation in international platforms”, said Chief Guest of honor Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah, Minister of Sports, Sindh,

Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association geared the winning progress of bowling in Sindh by successfully organizing Tenpin Bowling Event in 14TH Sindh Games 2011, under the auspices of Sindh Olympic Association at Area 51- Bowling Alley from 1st to 3rd April, 2011. Over 50 Athletes from all over the Sindh participated under Amateur and Master Category along with 10 Double Team and 5 Symbolic District Teams. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah (Minister of Sports, Government of Sindh), a renowned sports admirer and a promising Minister of Sports Department enhanced the prestige of the award ceremony with his presence and witnessed Finals with keen interest

TEAM EVENT: Karachi won Medal (Mr.Khawaja Ahmed Mustaqeen. as Captain, Mr.Shabbir Lashkerwala, Mr. Irfan Mazhar, Mr.Kamran Mughal and Mr.Abrar)  813pts. the Silver Medal was obtained by Hyderabad (Captain Mr. Sarim Kazim, Mr.Shahjahan & Mr.Farhaj Ahmed) by dropping down 779 pins in total Sukher secured Bronze Medal, (Mr. Usman Ghani as Captain, Mr. Zahid Mahmood, Mr.Abid Ahmed, & Mr.Arsalan Mughal) with a combined total of 731 pts, in Team event

DOUBLES:  After the aggressive game play  Shabir Lashkarwala & Usman Ghani  proved their metals by secured Gold Medal (723 pts). The Silver Medal was obtained by Zahid Mahmood & Shahjahan Bhatti by scoring pts 689 pts.  The Silver Medal was secured by Mr. Aleem Agha & Mr. M. Ahmed Shaikhani  by scoring 688 pts

MASTERS SINGLES: Ahmed Shaikhani (Winner) with 382 points, Naseem Ahmed (Runners up) with 370 pts & Usman Ghani (3rd position) with 369 were leading champions in Masters Single. Rashid Ali was titled as the Highest Scorer  236.

AMETEUR SINGLES:  Faizan Tariq  (Winner) with 358 pts, Arsalan Mughal (Runners up) with 357 pts , & Irfan Manzar (3rd position) with 312 pts ruled the tournament in Amateur Single. Faizan Tariq was titled for a top scorer 214.

The players were awarded with the prestigious medals and trophies. Mr.Ahmed Ali Rajput, Organizing Secertary of 14th Sindg Games 2011 & Secetary of Sindh Olympic Associatio, Mr Hanif Muhammad Merchawala, Director Sindh Sports Board.  Mr. Aleem Agha ,Senior Vice President, Mr. Muhammad Amin Nasir Vice President of STBA, and General Secretary Mr. Ch. Muhammad Ali (Romis Ali) Distributed souvenirs to guest. The well managed events remained the catch of media through number of channels for significant support.

Minister of Sports was briefed thoroughly about the ongoing activities of STBA and significant development in bowling took place in Sindh. Romis Ali, General Secretary STBA thanked the Minister for his interest in this sport and assured him that the Association, with the assistance of Ministry of Sports, shall enrich the Bowling Sport within Sindh to a world class level.

Organizer, Romis Ali, General Secretary Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association & Joint Secretary of Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, speaking at the occasion stated that “The code of conduct and legitimacy of STBA has made the Bowling a progressive sport in the region and provided the consistency to retain its position in the winning circle. We are making all possible efforts to hear the dropping Pins in every District of Sindh by  getting sports areas approved for bowling alleys and installing professional lanes. The representation from Interior Sindh still haven’t left behind with the participation of players whose passion for bowling drags them down to Karachi Bowling Alleys all the way long from their residency

14th Sindh Games 2011

Tenpin Bowling - 14th Sindh Games Qualifying Rounds has been started from 1st  March till 9th  March, 6:00pm onwards daily at AREA 51  Bowling Alley (next to Carlton Hotel) under Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA). The announcement of WOMEN category for the first time signifies the rapid popularity of the sports.

The excitement and the thrill to win the trophy in the biggest sports event of SINDH has created a challenging environment among players during the qualifying rounds under the category of MEN / WOMEN / AMATEUR Singles , DOUBLES and TEAM Event.

After the selection from qualifying rounds, ROUND 1 will be played on 9th March from 6:00om onward, Round 2 on 10th March and Finals on 11th March at 6:00 onwards to mark the history of bowling in Sindh through awarding medals and certificates to impressive and passionate bowling champions.

14th Sindh Games 2011Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) proudly announces that speedily growing Tenpin Bowling Sport has been inducted in 14th Sindh Games 2011 by Worthy Sindh Olympic Association under STBA management. This would be the officially ranking tournament from 10-12 March 2011 where bowlers will prove their metal for the first time.

We are grateful to Sindh Olympic  Association Authorities, with special thanks to Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, and Mr Ahmed Ali Rajpoot , Secretary, Sindh Olympic Association as their efforts for development and love to sports has enabled us to enjoy this occasion.  

 Romis Ali, General Secretary  Said" STBA has been working for development of bowling sport in Sindh . Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui , Secretary , Sports and Youth Affairs, Sindh Announced that the Bowling will be included in 14th Sindh Games 2011 (Sukkur) as an Exhibition Game but the Venue will be Karachi. The sports will be promoted in the region by installing bowling alleys in cadet colleges and sports vicinities in Interior Sindh, so that the Tenpin Bowling will be widespread throughout the province to make our players standout and glorify the name of country in international platform. He thanked Media for their valuable support and Announced Inter Media Tenpin Bowling Competition with a celebration of SSB & STBA. In response to the question of Media Personnel, he said that Sindh Sports Board is in collaboration with STBA and support will not be temporary. He said that like other sports Boxing, Basketball, Cricket & Hockey events are organized regularly; Tenpin Bowling Events will be conducted on regular basis.

KARACHI 31th January 2011: The 2nd Sindh Sports Board Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011, a series of Ranking event conducted after every 3 months organized by Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) under the auspices of Sindh Sports Board came to an end on 30th January 2011 at Royal Rodale club with the remarkable performances of players and the active participation of youth in Amateur Single, Masters Singles, Doubles and Team Event categories. The Tournament became a noteworthy measure to enhance the performances of players in 14th Sindh Games 2011.

“The initiative taken by STBA in conducting series of Ranking events in every quarter of the year has effectively enhanced the players performances, clean sweep of winning Trophies in National Event is the witness. The event will continuously grasp new talent, train existents players and will eventually bring up a bowling celebrity to glorify Pakistan internationally”, said, Romis Ali (General Secretary, STBA)

MASTERS SINGLES: Mr. Junaid Khan leaded the tournament with the score of 426 pts, Mr. Sarim Kazim   was the Runners-up (358pts) and the 2nd Seeding  Aleem Agha secured 3rd position (350pts). The Top scorer was Shabbir Lashkerwala with 245 Points

AMATEUR SINGLES:  Mr. Kashif Ali secured 1st position ( 352 pts) with the stunning performance, Mr.  Faizan Tariq was the Runners-up (332  pts) and Mr. Ahmer Abbas     took 3rd Position (324 pts). The Top Scorer was Ahmer Abbas with 223 Points

DOUBLES: After the aggressive game play Mr. Khawaja Ahmed  & Mr. Robert Shangara secured 1st position (766pts). The 2nd Position was obtained by Mr. Aleem Agha & Mr. M. Ahmed Shaikhani by scoring pts 704 pts.  The 3rd Position was secured by Abdullah & Junaid ( 600pts)

TEAM EVENT: The competitive Team Event was headed by Sindh Yellow by scoring 776 pts, Sindh Green secured 2nd position (669pts) followed by Sindh Blue took 3rd Position (666 Pts).

Mr. Amin Nasir (Vice President, STBA) warmly welcomed Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, (Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs) to honour the award ceremony with his prestigious presence as a chief guest accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Ali Rajpoot (Secretary, Sindh Olympic Association) and Mr. Raziq H. Rabbani (Consultant, Sindh Sports Board) to witness the tournament. While talking to Media, the Secretary (Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt. of Sindh) encouraged STBA for organizing one of a kind Tenpin bowling tournament. He also announced that the bowling has been entered in 14th Sindh Games 2011 and the game will be promoted in interior Sindh by installing bowling alleys in cadet colleges and sports vicinities. The chief guest distributed trophies, medals and prizes upto PRK 100,000 to the award winning participant. Mr. Aleem Agha (Senior Vice President, STBA) concluded the ceremony by giving a note of thank to the participants, honourable guest and media for their dedicated support which resulted in the success of the event

General Secretary of Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) Romis Ali Presented Annual Performance Report 2010 to Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui (Secretary, Sports and Youth Affair, Govt. of Sindh). He was also briefed about the future plan and shared the thoughts of further development of Bowling in interior Sindh. Mr. Muhammad Amin Nasir (Vice President, STBA) honoured him with the souvenir for recognition to his significant contribution toward the winning progress of the association on the occasion of formal opening of association’s official website at his office. Mr. Hanif  Muhammad Mirchawala (Director, Sindh Sports Board) was present on the occasion.

The Salient of Annual Progress report was Achievements in 2010 & progressive record of all the Ranking Bowling Events organized by the association. 2nd Sindh Sports Board Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011

Over 100 players will be participating in 2nd Sindh Sports Board Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011 under the category of Masters, Amateur, Doubles and Teams Events in continuation of the SERIES OF RANKING EVENTS from 29th – 30th January, 2011 at Royal Rodale- Sports and Recreational Complex, DHA Phase 5 ext, Karachi under auspices of honourable Sindh Sport Board and Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation. The grading is based on an Average base of Bowler’s developed during 2010 Bowling Event to qualify for their respective category.

AFTER the remarkable success of 1st Sindh InterLeague Bowling Tournament 2010 and record breaking achievement of STBA’s enthusiastic bowlers in 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship., the 2nd SSB Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011 will retain the spirit of players and become a tool for continuous self evaluation. “The consistency of bowling events in Sindh has significantly improved the players performance, evidence of which is the clean sweep of winning trophies in 5th National Games 2011- Tenpin Bowling Event by STBA players ”, said Romis Ali (General Secretary, STBA). The General Secretary briefed the details of 2ND Sindh Sports Board Ranking Bowling Tournament and he said that STBA is the only legitimate body which is playing a vital role in promoting bowling and aiming to produce bowling stars to glorify Pakistan internationally.

STBA will be awarding players with prestigious awards, certificates and Cash Prizes upto PKR 100,000 down to Sixth (6th) level in Final of 2nd Sindh Sports Board Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011. Numbers of new players have joined STBA which is the result of dynamic efforts made by the Association. “Once the player will be qualified for their respective category then Round 1 will be played on 29th Jan 2011 and it then proceeds toward the Round 2 & Finals on 30th Jan, 2011” said Romis Ali –General Secretary STBA. The officials of STBA have synergized all the concerned authorities such as Sindh Sports Board and Media to make collaborated efforts to promote and groom the future Bowling Legends. Aleem Agha- Senior Vice President, STBA, gave an appreciative note to Mr. Hanif Muhammad Mirchawala- Director Sports& Youth Affairs and Media teams for their interest and dedication. STBA hopes to make this event a sense of inspiration for the bowling environment of Pakistan.

Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) proudly announces the straight strikes on Championship titles by prestigious players of Sindh in 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 in Islamabad Mega Zone Bowling Club from 24th to till 26th December, 2010. The players from SINDH gave a clean sweep to other regions in all categories throughout the championship and entitled the professionalism of bowling in Sindh by winning SINGLES, DOUBLES and TEAM events respectively.

In SINGLES category, Rahid Ali from Karachi secured the top position by smashing Ijaz Ur Rehman with a significant defeat in final, while Aleem Agha stood at third place. Winner was awarded with Rs. 50,000 plus trophy and runners-up Rs 30000 cash and a trophy.

In DOUBLES event, Aleem Agha and Rashid Ali  (Sindh) with combined total score of 829 secured the first position by giving a noteworthy defeat to Saleem Baig and Ijaz Ur Rehman (Islamabad) with combined total score of 799 held the second place event in the doubles category. Winner of the doubles event from SINDH received Rs 25000 cash with the winning trophy; on the contrary the runners-up were given Rs 15000 cash plus runners up trophy.

The TEAM Event competition victory was ruled by Aleem Agha , Naseem Ahmed Qureshi, Rashid Ali and Mahmood Ahmed from Sindh with a total of 1408 against Saleem Baig, Ijaz Ur Rehman, Mohammad Hussain Chuttha and Sajid Mahmood from Islamabad who were only able to score 1396 to secure second position. Karachi team was awarded Rs 2000 cash plus a prestigious Gold medal while Islamabad team was given Silver medal for standing second in the championship.

The astounding success of the players from SINDH in all the categories in 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 proved the meritorious performance of SINDH TENPIN BOWLING ASSOCIATION in order to deliver the professional environment for bowlers and providing talented players who can glorify Pakistan worldwide said Romis Ali (General Secretary, STBA).

The final round marked the end of the tournament, followed by prestigious Prize Distribution Ceremony where Chief Guest, Mr Hanif Mirchawala, Director Sports & youth Affairs added glamour to the event. Over 50 players participated in Masters and Amateur Category and 6 Teams played in the tournament. Top Seed Shabbir Lashkarwala became the first bowler to win the coveted Sindh Interleague Bowling Tournament 2010 by scoring average 172 and defeated Rashid Ali in Knock out Final.  He was the Gold Medalist of 13th Sindh Games 2010 Tenpin Bowling Event as well. Shabbir Lashkerwala (Winner), Rashid Ali (Runners up), Syed Zubair (3rd position) and Aleem Agha (4th position) were the finalists in the Masters Single and Mahmood Ahmed was awarded the Highest Scorer by achieving 236 points.  Abdullah Tahir (Winner), Shahjahan (Runners up), Abid Ahmed (3rd position) and Faizan Tariq (4th position) leaded the tournament in Amateur Single and Abdullah Tahir also awarded for a top scorer 214. Sindh White stood 1st position, (Khawaja Ahmed as Captain, Zubair Ali, Naeem, & Abdullah Tahir), Sindh Green was runners-up (Robert as Captain, Shahjahan, Sarim & Mahmood Ahmed) and Sindh Blue got 3rd position in Team event (Naseem Ahmed Qureshi as Captain, Shabbir Lashkerwala, M. FarhanRiaz. M. Abid Ahmed).  The players were awarded of Rs. 100,000 cash prizes till 10th position in each category along with trophies and certificates, followed by speeches by Mr Hanif Mirchawala, Director Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of Sindh. Mr. Aleem Agha ,SVP, Muhammad Amin  Nasir, VP, and Romis Ali, General Secretary.

I suggest that Sindh Sport Board should provide us the space to open up a bowling Arena in terms of private public partnership. We are trying our level best to make this sports reachable for every class, a technician who won Gold Medal in 13th Sindh Games Tenpin Bowling Event 2010 amateur category is the living example",

Sindh Government shall patronize and support the promotion of Tenpin Bowling in the Sindh, while all steps shall be taken to provide international standard gaming facilities for Tenpin Bowlers in Sindh, this was stated by Chief Guest of hounor Mr. Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, Minister of Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh, a renowned sportsman and active leader of youth affairs enhanced the prestige of the Award Ceremony with his presence accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Noman Saigal, Industrialist and the member of renowned business family of Pakistan, that maintains a record in Guinness Book of World Record as the “Major Sports Loving Family of the World” and Mr Hanif Muhammad Merchawala, Director Sports and Youth Affairs on 15th June 2010 at Hit Zone Arena, Karachi. Winners were awarded with Medals, Trophies and Certificates, in recognition to their performance, by the Chief Guest.  The President of Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA), Mr. Sardar Khan, Senior Vice President- Mr. Aleem Agha, Vice President- Mr. Muhammad Amin Nasir and General Secretary Mr. Ch. Muhammad Ali (Romis Ali) presented souvenirs to guest to acknowledge their association and love to the Bowling Sport.

Minister of Youth Affairs was briefed thoroughly about the ongoing activities of STBA and its preparations for future events & development of sport. Mr Ch. Muhammad Ali (Romis Ali) the General Secretary STBA thanked Minister Youth Affairs for his interest in sport and assured him that the Association, with the assistance of Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, shall produce world class Tenpin Bowling Players in the province who shall not only represent the country internationally but would also bring back the lost glory in the world of sports for Pakistan. The Minister offered overwhelming support to STBA for the future events of such nature. He further said that we are committed to promote sports and other healthy activities and we have the honour to convert garbage dumps into beautiful parks and Sports Grounds. He also acknowledged the efforts put in by the Management of Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association for the holding event of international standard and gifting a healthy activity to the city of Karachi. “It was an event of international standard that was produced with in short span of time by the management and the team deserves my heartiest congratulation and I pay homage to them for their success in future”, he said.  

Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association engraved a landmark in the history of bowling in Sindh as well as in Pakistan by successfully organizing First Ranking Championship, freshly included, in 13TH Sindh Games 2010, under the auspices of Sindh Sports Board at Hit Zone Arena from 14th to 16th June, 2010 where 36 Athletes played under Amateur, Master Categories and Team Events. Teams (Sindh Green, Sindh White, Sindh Blue, Sindh Red and Sindh Yellow) actively took part in the championship and prove their metal in the venue.

Semi-Finals Started at 7:30pm with huge excitement among players. After enthusiastic game play, 10/25 players under Amateur category,  10/25 under  Single Master and Sindh Red, Sindh White and Sindh Yellow under Team Event qualified for Finals.

Final started at 8:30pm with Amateur, Masters leaded the crowd with smashing strikers and Team Event built up the spirits more ravishing.

Qualifying Round Started at Hit Zone Arena -13th Sindh Games 2010 .

13 Sindh Games Tenpin Bowling Logo 13th Sindh Games Tenpin Bowling Championship Qualifying Rounds has been started from 10th June till 13th June, 6:00pm onwards daily at Hit Zone Arena under Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA). This event is an opportunity to participate into first officially recognized bowling championship in Sindh.

Thrill in the alley with the smashing strikes of bowlers continues to grow and number of new players joined STBA during the qualifying rounds under the category of MASTERS, AMATEUR and TEAM event.

After the selection from prequalifying rounds, semi-finals will be played on 14th June from 7:30 onward and Finals on 15th June at 7:30 onwards to mark the history of bowling in Sindh through awarding medals and certificates to impressive and passionate bowling champions.

Tenpin Bowling officially inducted in 13th Sindh Games 2010 .

Sindh Games Logo_STBASindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) proudly announces that speedily growing Tenpin Bowling Sport has been officially inducted in 13th Sindh Games 2010 by Worthy Sindh Sports Board under STBA management. This would be the officially ranking tournament from 14-16 June 2010 where bowlers will prove their metal for the first time.

We are grateful to Sindh Sports Board Authorities, with special thanks to Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, and Mr Hanif Muhammad Merchawala, Director Sports & Youth Affairs as their efforts for development and love to sports has enabled us to enjoy this occasion.  

 Romis Ali, General Secretary  Said" STBA has been working for development of bowling sport in Sindh as well as in the country since 2004. The present Association Team members confidently lead Mr. Saradr Khan, the President, Mr, Aleem Agha, Senior Vice President, Mr Muhammad Amin Nasir,  and Mr. Faisal Ijaz, Treasure are working day and night to boost the promotion of this sport and their first success, to introduce sport at an official platform, will pave the way for its development in befitting manner and it will be marked as milestone in the history of bowling in Pakistan.
