PTBF not getting any favour from PSB - Euro Challenge 2012

Wednesday, 16th March, 2012

Brunswick Euro Challenge 2012

LAHORE (The Sports Encounter), March 16, 2012: The Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) Secretary, Ijaz ur Rehman, has said that the Federation is not getting any favours from Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and that is why the game is lagging far behind other sports in the country.

Addressing a press conference here at media center of Pakistan Sports Complex, Ijaz said the PTBF in a short span of time without getting any help from the PSB had achieved a lot but could do better if the PSB helps them.

“The PTBF has so far organised a total of 11 events including, three Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Bowling Championships, six national championships, one PTBF Ranking event and a Premier League event,” Ijaz said.

“We have got a lot of talent in our country but we cannot do anything without the PSB’s support. We play, practice and host tournaments at the mega bowling zone at F-9 Park here, which is also open for general public and that is why our time is very restricted. If the PSB allots us a place where we can establish our own bowling alley then the game can reach to heights in the country,” he added.

Ijaz, however, thanked the PSB, IPC Minister, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani and Secretary IPC Aneesul Hassan Musvi for granting them full affiliation.
The PTBF is also sending two players including Ijaz and Rashid Ali at its own to France for participation in the Brunswick Euro Challenge March 20 to 28. The 4th Shaheed Banazir Bhutto Championship in April here will be telecasted live on Pakistan Television (PTV).                              ....Read Complete Story
